Thoughts of peace
Thought of the day:
One of the most beautiful declarations of love addressed to man by God himself is found in the old book of the Prophet Jeremiah 29:11.
I quote, ‘I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.’
Re-focusing our attention on ourselves, we find ourselves running desperately for the pleasure of the moment, often finding ourselves in the position where we do our best to thank people to the detriment of God; Those we consider superior to us, stubbornly believing that our future depends somewhat on their decisions.
So should the relationship between us and God, conditioning our every success or aspiration to Him and His will.
But being deceived by the ruthless thinking of the corrupt society of which we are a part, and which brought the Creator out the back door of history and then imposed on us a mentality impoverished of any spiritual value, we came to the position of seeking rather To thank those around us only God, the Supreme Authority of this universe.
One of the causes of this flawed mentality is that slowly but surely, postmodern Christianity has slipped into the hedonic lifestyle and thinking of consumer society, in which man reigns tyrannically from the position of supreme king of the micro and macro-cosmic Universe, and Deity It has become just an archaic option, worthy only of the ‘old-fashioned’ minds of people considered too old and imprisoned in the past to understand the taste, pleasure, and ‘brilliance of the moment.’
Returning to our text today, when you read the beautiful declaration of the Godhead in which he promises us a future full of peace and prosperity (if we choose to follow His ways), you can not help but rejoice and give Glory to the Creator Our only one in Goodness, Love and Righteousness, a Father who jealously wants us for Him and who has guaranteed us happiness through Himself!
