‘Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.’
Some time ago I was asked a rather strange question, namely: What would an ideal world look like for me?
My answer? One in which divine peace reigns, springing from man’s compassion for his fellow men.
What makes me say that?
We live in a time when man, driven by emotions, wants nothing more than to be left alone, in his square, where he can experience and agonize as much as possible and only for his own benefit.
But when we read the Bible, we understand that the secret of balance and perfection in relationships lies in the ‘self-sacrifice’ for others to do well.
Can you imagine a world in which each person sacrifices himself exclusively for others and not for himself?
There can be no more hatred, lies, violence or shortcomings, because everyone will do their best to raise the other above himself. No one will be knocked to the ground there, because we will all do our best to push the others up; to success and victory.
Until we all reach heaven, it is as if I choose to live in such a ‘world,’ one in which ‘the law of Christ’ is fulfilled.
