Thought of the day:
How can I be a good man in this world of shadows? It seems to be the question of the moment for the true believer, that long-distance runner on the path to holiness.
One of the best ways in which one can analyze and evaluate the progress of one’s life is to look retrospectively and carefully at all that one has accomplished in this world, trying to understand how, and in what respects it is different now. what was once. Then, understanding the mistakes of the past and the state of affairs of the present, to position himself strategically for a correct approach to his future.
Following the same procedure of analysis, the Apostle Paul presents us with a kind of image ‘before and after’ of the life of the true believer. An image in which the central idea is not ourselves, but the factor that transformed us, namely the Lord Jesus Christ.
I quote: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old ones are gone; behold, all things are become new. ” I ended the quotation recorded in 2 Corinthians 5:17
Looking at this extraordinary perspective, we notice that everything that was old and dirty in our lives was erased on the cross when we believed in God, and then turned into something so new and clean that nothing and no one it can still convince us to come back and live the life we once ‘loved’!
If the customs of the past still frighten you and hold you captive to his darkness, turn your gaze to the Lord Jesus today, for He is the only one who can turn the darkest nightmare of your life into the most incredible and wonderful. dream.
Dare to believe, call him by name and you will feel the difference.
Be blessed!
